I keep thinking back to Wilson’s EO barring blacks from government jobs. If Trump tried to pass one of those for, say, Muslims, would Republicans have the guts to impeach him over it? Would people like your family or my coworker see that as going to far, and be willing to do something about it?

I like to think they would. I think their attitude is wait and see what he does. They’re not supporting Trump by any means but I really felt my concerns by pointing out who he’s surrounding himself were dismissed and told I should wait and see. I have no doubt that they’d see that as wrong. I’m not worried about them being Trumpers. I’m worried about them accepting Trump’s new normal. The new normal is scary and I don’t see how they see it’s a frightening new world we are where a key presidential adviser is praised by the KKK and American Nazi Party.
