Because at its core this was a business decision. They’ll wait til the heat (and threats of boycotts) dies down, then return to donating to lawmakers whose votes help them become even more filthy rich.

Right. As soon as the bean counters tell them the benefit of paying off Republicans outweighs the negative PR.

In the meantime they can just donate to an anonymous PAC anyway.
