It’s what they did in the previous clown show. It’s a virtual certainty that Jeffries won’t get any Republican votes, because even for the so-called “Biden 18,” to vote for a Democrat is tantamount to treason. For similar reasons, I would also not expect any of them to be mysteriously absent for the vote. I would, however, expect a lot of “I vote for myself” as a primitive form of holding pattern until someone finally clamps the vise tightly enough around their (physical or metaphorical) testicles to satisfy 218 Republicans.
