Correct but besides the point. For you and I, 0bama may be a Christian of sorts, but from the point of view of Shariah he will always remain a Muslim because of his father, no matter how often and vocally he protests.

The real fun starts when you have a Muslim father and a Jewish mother: you are simultaneously a member of both religions for life, even if you convert to Catholicism, Mormonism, Pastafarianism, or Big Toe Worship. There are a few cases like that here.

I really think you miss my point. I’m talking about American conservatives, on this list, who reference Shariah to prove that Obama is a Muslim, and ONLY that Obama is a Muslim. Because they don’t like Obama. They would never do this in the case of an actual Muslim who converted to Christianity. The disconnect annoys me.

I know a few folks with Jewish moms and Muslim dads, but they’re all Israeli, and fairly secular, so they don’t seem to be bothered.
