Actually- one of the most successful campaigns in recent history not only had 10 campaign promises, there were names attached to it. And they did keep their promises, and they people were pleased. Then it all fell apart because no one followed up on it.

It’s too bad. Folks want to think a politician will do what they say, and why shouldn’t they other than the fact it’s a politician? Is it really too much to ask for them to keep their word? If so, perhaps we should select a better caliber of person to represent us. Maybe it’s just as easy for those of us in the electorate to accept the status quo than to put in the hard work of getting good representation.

The problem is it’s hard to keep your word when you can’t predict the future.
