TBF, we also had a major member of the party cheat on a sick wife, and unlike Jackie Gingrich, Elizabeth Edwards was well on her way at that point to her only way out of a hospital being into hospice. It’s almost as if there’s something broken in a lot of males who have the drive to be politicians.

However, going back to being fair to our side instead, that led to John Edwards basically looking at the proverbial “can’t even be elected dogcatcher”, while Newt’s political career had barely begun.

It’s almost as though we reject someone once they’re shown to be a bad apple, but the Rs support them because they are or something.
