Seriously however, there are cases where good married women need contraception for health reasons. I won’t bore you with details, but speaking as a “sensitized” Rh negative, the odds of having another fetus make it to term were pretty limited. Without birth control I would presumably have had a bunch of miscarriages-or, no sex life. Neither would have been good.

It is worth noting that access to contraception and abortion should be viewed as a near-absolute right, with no real attempt made to classify cases into medically necessary vs. convenience.
