Actually, automation could have saved at least 2 or 3 of the victims by installing a robotic turret-but the costs of construction, testing, maintenance and insurance/liability would have made deploying the solution too expensive.

And that’s assuming the perp was within the automation’s tracking range-as someone pointed out, if it was a sniper? Fuhgetaboutit.
