I had to go in a prison for an administrative hearing once, and that creeped the Hell out of me as a fairly prosperous middle aged white guy who had never experienced real hardship. Can’t imagine the effect it would have to face the prospect of being stuck in one for years to come.

I’ve seen some of a large jail when bailing a friend out, but never a prison. I hope to keep it that way, since my work would not involve me with prisons.
