One thing to note here is that, since TFG’s mother is Scottish, he would be able to get a UK passport, which, given agreements between UK and the Republic of Ireland, would also give him access to the Republic, which is also an EU state, and therefore a gateway to the EU. So I suspect the two passports are a US passport and a UK passport.
