If this is how the base is reaction without a clear “next in line.” Maybe 2016 is the year that they finally get their true conservative and get their asses truly kicked at the polls. I’m not talking about McCain 2008 because that clearly wasn’t enough and nor was Romney 2012. No, they need a beat down in the mold of Goldwater 64 or McGovern 72. Something that finally convinces them that they’re not losing because they’re insufficiently conservative. I don’t think that will happen because enough people blindly vote Republican to give Republican candidates at least 45% of the vote in presidential elections.
