Many times more likely to die driving.

But a driving fatality is not national news. The danger is amplified way out of proportion to the risk. Always has been with airline travel. I have great trouble getting Mrs. Hawk on a plane.

I won’t fly for a trip that I can easily drive (<1500 miles) but that’s more because I don’t like airport security theater and love driving.
