However, I suppose there are a whole bunch of folks who just need to be talked to in hyperbole and with “great zeal”. THese folks be they on the right or left can be assumed not to be spoken to rationally.

You’re saying that the Republicans need to cater to the Crazy-American vote.

Doesn’t having someone who can speak their hyperbolic language but coming from the correct side of the aisle potentially allow some of these folks to see a different perspective?

Maybe we can convince them that the martians who might analprobe them tomorrow are more likely, in fact, to be tentacled beasts from underneath the Europan moon-glacier.

I’d sooner start by convincing them to be, uh, sane.
