Please, that is not a dog whistle. Kerry went out of his way to show his athleticism, was that pandering to the minority base? All presidents do the same thing, bush, reagan, ford, bush sr., every president but Carter, Taft, and Roosevelt.

Sigh. If this has been done by every president in history, then why “We need a president, not an athlete?” Wouldn’t athlete and president be synonymous?
