When my parents lived in Central Oregon a neighbor had cats that lived on the roof of the house due to the coyotes in the area. A Great-Horned Owl moved into the area and started picking them off the roof at night.

That actually freaks me out quite a bit around here. We have a lot of cats about. We don’t have owls, but hawks and turkey vultures. I guess the vultures only eat dead things, but man, they are enormous, like 3 feet tall. The hawks are pretty large and I think could gobble up a kitty. *shivers*
