Having the president, whose a member of one major party, arrest the other major party’s presidential candidate without hard evidence - and Trump talking isn’t going to count - would be a MAJOR disaster.

There is no quick and easy path out of this quagmire, no good solution to this festering sore on the body politic.

The best case I can imagine is a loud public rejection by Ryan, McConnell, and everybody else, and having Trump lose in a colossal landslide. But that still won’t make something like this go away.
