Well that needs to stop. I believe in a free market where the government doesn’t interfere in business, but that means that business shouldn’t rely on the government to bail them out when they make a mistake. So if Transocean doesn’t take immediate action into cleaning up their mess, then hopefully a few lawsuits will spur them into action.

Don’t we give the oil companies subsidies on their licenses since the resource they have licensed is depleting (because they’re pumping it out of the ground)? Well, I think we should hand the oil companies the bill for every last penny of the work cleaning this up + triple damages.
