Hey I just got yet another call from a Paulian gold bug. I get a couple a week. This happens because I work for a gold refinery and do the front/PR/Sales work. It’s been interesting talking gold/barter through. Practical things like making change. (Answer-That’s what silver coins are for) But it’s a mythology make no mistake.

One of the chief complaints during the Revolutionary War was the lack of “hard” (metal) money. Paper money printed by banks wasn’t considered as good.

However, just looking at amounts, if we didn’t have enough for Colonial America, how can we have enough now?
