This is a dangerous trend, as so many people no longer have any financial contribution to our government.
When Dems claim that the tax rates will just go back to the Clinton years and all will be fine, they discount the fact that less and less people are now holding up the country financially. That’s just not sustainable.

There is a sinister reason for that as well. If you make someone dependent on you, they seem to vote for you and your party. Give them free stuff, foment anger towards “the rich”, and promise more free stuff (paid for by the rich, of course).
