So this guy lives in Delaware, does a 2 hour each direction commute to NYC every day, costing between $170 and $200 dollars total, and says he’s making more money now than at his prior job after taxes.
I’ve never forgotten a newspaper profile I read when I was in high school; a guy who lived in Big Bear, worked in Santa Monica, and commuted every day via Cessna. Some of his co-workers thought it was awesome, so they moved up there too and plane-pooled. But the other guys weren’t pilots, and because he didn’t have a commercial license, all he was allowed to charge them was split the gas.
I thought that sounded like a lifestyle to aspire to.
