It’s funny, I always thought Lincoln looked kind of cool because his face was so distinctive. Romney looks like a refugee from an 80s movie set.

Apparently, contemporaries of Lincoln say no photograph or drawing of him could capture the ineffable something about his face. He was ugly, and yet somehow incredibly physically charismatic. I think of it like Christopher Walken or Tom Waits.
