You know, I’ve been thinking this evening (never a good idea).

The wing nuts are complaining that the Park 51 project is a “victory” mosque to celebrate Islam’s conquering on 9/11 (to whit: see the video from AFA posted earlier by Charles). Well implicit in that statement is the belief that we were defeated on 9/11. I thought the line was that “these colors don’t run” and that we were punched in the nose but we win because they couldn’t tear us down. They could just tear down buildings made of metal but the fabric of our country remains.

When did the Republican Party (and let’s admit it, it’s mostly Republicans) and the wing nut fringe come to believe that we have been defeated?
