Michelle Obama grew up upper-lower class or lower-middle class, her father was employed, her parents were together. Her mom was strict, banning television and being a martinet about doing homework. Michelle got into a gifted class and then into a magnet school. She and her brother both skipped a grade.

So is that what ‘getto’ is? Being ambitious, driven, successful, and disciplined?
