Weird side note: The theory of evolution, or rather, of speciation and inheritance over time, was actually published in like, Timber and Woodland Logging Review or something, quite a bit before Darwin published. Darwin never saw it, of course, but the other guy really did come up with it first.

However, it was just a little side note, and he didn’t, y’know, support it with the mountains of evidence that Darwin did. So it just passed unnoticed.

Are you talking about Wallace or a third person?
