Magical thinking. Forget magical fairies. I’m sure President Nixon or Johnson thought they could direct the Defense Department to bomb North Vietnam out of existence, and that didn’t exactly work out as planned. Bombing Daesh out of existence isn’t going to work either.

We didn’t bomb al Qaeda out of existence either.

And it’s not like the US isn’t bombing Daesh regularly. We are. Targeting leaders and underlings wherever they are. UAV strikes.
