it’s just so annoying. Okay, I’ll admit that I don’t have an encyclopedic knowledge of guns but I don’t think you need that to know that people having those guns to menace people isn’t okay. But speaking of this Pizza place, I may give them a visit next time I’m in D.C.

I was having a conversation with Mrs. Fish last night about guns. Now, understand, I have two young toddlers, 5 and 3 years old. We both have no qualms about owning firearms, provided we take exceptional precautions to keep them secured when not in use. I had the realization, and I informed her as much, that I don’t feel the need to keep a gun in order to use it to defend myself. Mrs. Fish and I are both trained in basic hand-to-hand combat, and I have no problem with keeping whatever guns I may own on complete lockdown, because I won’t ever feel like I simply must get ahold of one in such short notice that the additional security causes an unacceptable delay. It’s just a non-issue for me, and so we both feel that it’s less of a risk for us to own compared to those who want to own one purely for the purpose of shooting a person with it (even if that be in self-defense).
