I don’t want to sound like OMG I’M COLORBLIND or I DON’T SEE COLOR but I genuinely do try to treat everyone fairly regardless of their skin color or background. If you have an accent, I’m if anything going to be curious where you’re from. I had to be a witness to a will signing recently by one of our other partners. The lady and her parents had Spanish accents but were more European looking so I was curious where she was from, Argentina. Ended up having a good talk about Argentine steaks but she said she was a vegetarian ironically enough. I really do like meeting people from places I’ve only ever read about. You don’t need to be quote colorblind, you just need to treat people good.

As Whitey McWhiteguy, I have no direct experience, but I suspect that POCs may find people who claim not to see color, or who are ‘the least racist person you’ll ever meet’ may be more problematic than outright honest racists. Feelings are what they are. The key is whether you let them color (haha) your thinking and your actions.
