Offhand, I believe folks from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines do not need visas. Probably Hong Kongers, as well. As for the other Asian countries/territories, they probably do need visas.

I know for a fact people from the PRC do since I helped a client out with that. I think a lot of people who are far removed from immigration just don’t know what it takes. It’s a lot of paper work, a lot of $$$$, etc. If I were in the situation that a lot of these people in these poorer countries face, I probably would break the immigration statute too. I’m not ashamed to say that.
