I think HFCS may be banned by the EU. I try to find European jams and preserves simply because they always use cane sugar, even the ones carried by the Dollar General (I check ingredients) which sometimes gets them from Eastern European countries. Bonne Maman (Belgium & France) is a popular brand in the UK and Europe from what I understand and was carried by my local supermarket for a while, but no one wanted to pay $3.50 for it.

I’ve heard that, but I don’t know for certain whether that’s true or not. A lot of Europeans have said to me that the use of HFCS as an additive or ingredient is banned in the EU.
