I’m of the opinion that Confederate Monuments were Participation Ribbons, given to the losers so they wouldn’t feel so bad about taking up arms for the worst cause for which Americans ever took up arms, and then losing.

It’s over 150 years later. They’re all grown up now. They don’t need their Attendance Medals anymore.
