If we take his claims at face value (which we shouldn’t, of course) he’s one of the good guys, concerned about the holes in security. Maybe so, maybe not, but as of yet no evidence that he did sabotage anything.

The attack (and I mean, the attack which damaged the pump) was by other guys. Sloppily confusing these two different events is not the way to properly analyze them.
