Dewey. He ran in ‘44 and ‘48. And would have again in ‘52 if not for Ike. I was talking about the nominating process though. You get one chance as nominee. There are no second acts in modern American candidacies to steal Fitzgerald’s line about second acts in American lives. There’s another pattern those four guys have too and it’s they were all young politically. All under 50 I believe for most of their political hay-day.
