I don’t recall that ever being a selling point. I do recall the Bush administration telling us how bad it was going to be.

I remember something like 40,000 body bags were ordered for American troops, and I thought ‘holy crap this is going to be bad. This is not worth the price.’ And I wrote Bush a letter asking him to NOT go into this war with Iraq.

He did not listen to me.

Well, at least thanks to Gen. Petraeus we won the war and are leaving a government in place that is not an utter failure. Not worth the cost, but its better than nothing.
