Over the past several weeks I have rambled on here about cosmology and the problems of presenting the field to the general public. I maintain that the widely circulated drawings about the changes of the universe from the “big bang” are influenced by creationism, and indeed even the concept of “the big bang” is essentially creationist.

This is for many reasons, one of which is that we humans are always looking for a beginning. I have speculated that this urge is driven by our own need to come to terms with our conception.

I don’t understand your critique of the “big bang” theory which I thought is the current scientific explanation for the origin of our universe: the universe suddenly came into being from a point of singularity which expanded at speeds many times the speed of light. There is no agreed scientific position on what preceded this event.
