Yep - I don’t doubt that Trump’s hardcore ride-or-die supporters will care all that much (hell, they’re probably totally on board with the idea), but other Republicans might well grow disgruntled, seeing this for exactly what it is…yet another Trump grift. And that can help demoralize them heading into this November.

If Lara Trump manages to become co-chair, a number of very expensive purses are suddenly going to snap shut and stay that way for the remainder of the election. You donate to the party to have influence over the party, to help elect those who will get you the most bang for your buck. You don’t make major donations to the party just to watch it go to the sort of lawyers who think that yelling at a judge in the midst of a major trial is a good idea because they saw Jack McCoy do it on Law & Order.
