One theory works like this:

How many democrats were there who made an issue of the fact that John McCain was born outside the US?

McCain was born in Panama but nobody ever bothers to bring it up, because he looks like one of us….

Barack Obama doesn’t look like “one of us” and so he is suspect.

How many people argued that while Jon McCain was in Vietnam he might have been carefully brainwashed so even he didn’t realize he had been and that letting him become president would be turning the nation over to the communists?

Once again your average white person looks at McCain and sees “one of us” they look at Barack Obama and they don’t….

So once they’ve concluded that he’s not “one of us” they try to distort the facts of the mater till they line up with their preconcieved notions.
