If it goes that long, then there is a good chance Trump will not give a SOTU address. He;ll say government is shut down and Democrats are obstructing him so there is no reason for the address.

So? Let him do that. Holding a temper tantrum would be as effective as giving the speech, which would amount to 90 minutes of whining why the Democrats won’t just cave into his demands.
