This type of behavior is, IMHO, a continuation of the infantalization of Western culture. You know, where we talk of 21 to 30 year old ‘children’. Technically true, no doubt, as we are all someone’s child, but not what the word actually was intended to mean.

So we see this from, primarily, leftists. The state their desires; adults say no. They restate their desires; adults say no. They begin to whine; adults stand firm and say no. Foot-stamping and crying are deployed; adults say, “I told you no!” Tantrums begin, complete with breath-holding and beating of their heads against the floor; adults become concerned and, instead of swatting the brats across their deserving asses, seek to compromise.

The infant wins, once compromise is offered. ‘Cause the kid isn’t going to compromise, he wants what he wants and has all the time in the world. Adults have lives to get back to.

Would you be talking about an electorate that would vote in a man-child with the slogan “Yes we can!”?
