The tail light is one of the go-to I-Want-To-Pull-This-Person-Over-And-Fuck-With-Them cards for the police. There’s no inspection in S.C., IIRC, so if you aren’t consistently checking or someone tells you, you could go a long time with a taillight out.

(I drove for 5 years without a yearly inspection in SC, which may have changed).

I don’t think there is any inspection—never had to have one in the 13 years I’ve lived here.

Wish they’d inspect “unsecured shit in the back of pickup trucks” as an extension ladder fall off a truck (going about 65 mph) in front of me just last week.

I just KNEW it was going to happen and changed lanes about 3 seconds before it flew.
