meh, rap has been in its “hair metal” days for over a decade now imo

Mainstream music in general has been in its hair metal days since the late ’90s, IMO. Something to do with Telecommunications Act, I’m told. The underground is where all the magic happens - hip-hop, country (“alternative country”, I think it’s called now), neo-folk, pop, and even some rock bands (I think everyone’s burnt out on the indie rock explosion of the ’90s).
