What I’ve been trying to figure has to do with something a newscaster said earlier on CNN. She said a priest had been killed and the president (presumably of the congregation) had tried to tackle the gunman and was shot… in the back. How? I can’t figure out how a guy tackling the gunman could possibly get shot in the back. It’s a puzzlement.

Tackling somebody doesn’t mean you’ve got their arms pinned.
