When I lived in Berlin, my apartment was across the hall from a Wohngemeinschaft (like a living collective) of Jesuits.

They all smoked. Very nice guys.

My upstairs neighbor was an honest-to-goodness sheikh.

He was always visiting them, and they always visited him. They got on swimmingly. It was nice to see.

Sounds like a sitcom. Really though even though I’m Agnostic and no longer Catholic, I’ve always liked and respected the Jesuits because of their intellectual pursuits.
