But my Harvard-educated cousin from suburban Chicago explained that it was beliefs based on the inherent strength of America; that states have the right to make their laws; and that if you didn’t want to live under the laws of Kansas you could move to California. I went to get a beer. No point in remaining thirsty in that intellectual desert.
Except these are the people pushing the “concealed-carry reciprocity act” in Congress… so if Kansas lets you carry a gun, you can take it California and Cali can’t do anything about it.
They only believe in “states’ rights” for states that are more right-wing than the federal gov’t — they vehemently oppose states’ rights when any state wants a policy that’s more liberal than federal requirements.
