They can say it was about “communism” all they like, but the driving reason for conservative support in the West for South Africa’s apartheid gov’t was deep-seated fear that the black majority would begin a “white genocide” if they were ever allowed to be in charge. And it is part of the reason why Putin enjoys such support in the West due to his various actions and discriminatory laws against racial, ethnic, and religious minorities in Russia.

Putin’s Russia is authoritarian, oligarchic, militaristic, patriarchal, xenophobic and theocratic.

In other words, just they way they want to see America other than the theocracy will be based on Fundamentalist Protestantism rather than Russian Orthodoxy.
