Up until recently, most people believed in the American dream that the next generation should have it better than their parents.

That faith is faltering as the young generation faces the reality that they can barely afford to pay off their educations, much less come up with a down payment on a mortgage…

They aren’t joining the CCC so that their folks at home can get $30 per month. They’re not bagging bodies on Omaha Beach. They’re not drinking from Colored Only fountains.
