Afghanistan drawdown risky, US joint chiefs head says
Afghan President Hamid Karzai welcomed the move, but the Taliban dismissed it as “symbolic” and vowed to continue fighting until all foreign forces left.

what I said yesterday, and the day before…etc etc…
the Taliban will never give up…either stay there for decades or get out, yesterday

Ayep. Short of taking the fight into Pakistan, we’re never going to effectively end the Taliban. All we can do now is leave in a manner that puts our troop at little to no risk until all are out. After that, if Karzai wants to keep tickling the dragon’s tail, he can do so without us there to clean up his mess.
