I read the first 3 books, said fuck this, and haven’t looked back.

I said fuck this to giant multi-volume fantasy epics at about book five of the Wheel of Time. First three books were awesome, the plot momentum started slowing down in book four, and by book five it had stopped entirely and Jordan started introducing new characters because the series had become an industry and needed to be milked for every dime it could generate.

Tried reading the first book of Game of Thrones after that and just could not be less interested in the shit going down in Westeros.
