I saw a piece on The PBS NewsHour a few weeks ago about the Hispanic population near the border with Mexico. A Republican woman was going on about going door to door in a neighborhood and how impressed everyone was that the GOP was reaching out to them because no Republican ever had before. Then she talked about how the Dems take the Hispanic voters for granted-only there for the elections and fiestas and holidays.

Really? The locals have never seen a Republican come around before, ever, and she is dissing the Dems because they aren’t there 24/7? Way to polish that turd.

I would be more impressed with a party that is there for community celebrations and elections, rather than one which only knocks on the door asking for a vote. Maybe it is just me.
