I think Fareed Zakaria coined the term for that book. (Which I still need to read.) It absolutely pissed off wingnuts. Then Pam called her book the “The Post-American Presidency”, and it became a slam on Obama’s presumed lack of Americaninity.

I haven’t read the book, what does the term mean in context? Is it something like living in a world post American unilateral hegemony?
