They need to do more than consider it. At the end of the day, if you kill enough of them the problem will go away. Somolia may still be a hell hole (I really can’t imagine what it would take to clean it up. Getting rid of Mohammedanism would be a start, but it would only be a start), but these jolly pirates will find other means of making a buck other than public suicide by SEAL.

Somalia is a screwed if you do and screwed if you don’t situation.

It’s a failed state.

We take out the pirates, somebody else will be at it in a few years. Which means will be always working over targets in Somalia.

Somalia is also taking the place of Afghanistan. The next 9/11 it could easily come out of Somalia.

Somalia is FUBAR. Question is what’s the long term threat level to the US. Is it high enough for us to do something?
